waste of time, July 18, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Black & Decker BDPS200 Paint Sprayer with Side Fill (Tools & Home Improvement) got this thinking that I could do a small room and save some time, it spit and sputtered and sprayed unevenly. I am going to go back and get another gallon and roll over my drips and smears. clean up took a long time, should have known better.....roller and brush.

Not sure if it was worth it/faster than a roller... but it was fun to use!
Pros:
-can spray a large area quickly
-handled latex deck stain without a problem (haven't tried anything else though)
Cons:
-the "fan" sprayhead leaked horribly - until I realized it wasn't screwed in enough. Instructions weren't clear on that. Should be screwed in COMPLETELY (which may require compressing as you turn)
-the side fill works, but on one occasion the threads didn't catch resulting in a leak. Not the worst thing ever, but annoying. Side fill isn't worth the hassle IMO.
-when paint runs low you get sputtering that creates a huge mess. Unfortunately, no warning before that happens
-still drips some even when operating well
-clean up is a bear (10-15 min)
-you will likely need to paint over the spray due to uneven spray. But it's still much quicker than brushing alone.
