Serious step up over Wagner or Ryobi Painters., February 18, 2011 By This review is from: Graco Magnum Project Painter PP7 (261805) Electric Airless Paint Sprayer (Misc.) I spent a lot of time comparing power painters (with spray and rollers) and reading reviews. I could not find a usable reliable Wagner or Ryobi regardless of cost. Every Wagner or Ryobi received a majority of negative reviews. It was obvious that if I wanted a reliable power painter backed up by a reputable company that would stand behind its products, I was going to have spend more money.
I then researched Graco's Magnum line of power painters (with rollers) and nearly every review was positive. Graco's products were reliable and performed well.
I purchased a Graco Magnum Project Painter 7 and I have to agree with all the positive reviews. I spent over $400 but I bought an extra roller extension, extra rollers and extra storage oil.
The design of the Project Painter 7 is excellent and obvious that Graco understands what painting is all about and what is needed.
The only drawbacks to any power painter (spray or roller) are two things... Read more

I needed to paint several of my metal roofs with some high performance acrylic paint. I needed a sprayer that could handle a 0.017" tip. This was the cheapest I found with that capability. I'm nearly done with both coats on all of them, and I am impressed with the sprayer. It has done the job well and I have no complaints.
It's rated "light duty" so it might not last if someone used it at lot, and I cannot yet speak to its longevity. If you plan to use it a lot, maybe you need a different one. But for my present needs it has been excellent, and I only plan to use it for one or maybe two projects a year.
I have not used the power roller attachment.
Clean-up is fairly straightforward.

I have used an airless paint sprayer for over 35 years until I retired in 2005. I had many types and styles of sprayers in that period of time but found Graco to be the most dependable. I used the commercial types that cost in the thousands of dollars and was always satisfied in their performances. I sold everything when I retired and found myself needing a sprayer to refinish my kitchen cabinets. I couldn't believe I could get a complete Graco setup for under $300. It was brand new from the factory and performed just like the larger rigs I used in the field. This sprayer is for the home owner and will do the job just like the ones that cost in the thousands. If you are a do-it-youselfer, this purchase is a "no brainer." My cabinets turned out perfect and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do some self painting without paying an arm and a leg for equiptment.
