Mine had a red tip guard, but didn't look like the one in the picture. Note: There is not a swivel on the end like in the picture. You cannot adjust the angle of the spray. Disappointed that there is no swivel on the tip like in the picture.

But mine dripped from the tip. I unscrewed, cleaned and it still dripped. I used normal latex paint from a gallon can. I finally called Wagner, and they said to return it for an exchange. I ended up returning, but purchased a 36" extension from my local hardware store. No problems so far.
