Wagner Paint Crew Plus Delivers...Paint, February 9, 2008 By Lefty Lu "real housewife" (orange county) - See all my reviews This review is from: Wagner 515010 Paint Crew Plus Paint Sprayer (Tools & Home Improvement) I didn't need it for spraying, but for rolling, and it worked great for that. I was priming my newly scraped and textured ceilings, which were really sucking up paint, and it was taking forever. I wanted something that would deliver paint to my roller without me having to return to the tray for more paint. I debated whether to get a low end professional machine or a high end Wagner and I ultimately ended up with this...half the price.
I hesitated because of the Wagner Paint Crew...non plus version. Reports of needing lots of paint in the hopper to work properly, long cleanup procedure, and reliability issues. I figured that this unit addressed the problem of needing lots of paint in the hopper by the new design; which it did (it was pretty much down to the bottom before it sucked in air). And then I figured that those who didn't complain about the reliability were complaining about the clean up. In other words, those who didn't clean, had issues on the subsequent use... Read more

Well Worth Every Penny !!, April 9, 2008 By This review is from: Wagner 515010 Paint Crew Plus Paint Sprayer (Tools & Home Improvement) Let me tell you about my day yesterday. I started painting our 150+ feet of gothic top picket fence with a brush and roller. It took me two and a half hours to paint one 8-foot section and a gate, both sides, two coats. I sat on the steps and thought, this is miserable. By 3:30 that afternoon, I was happily setting up my new Wagner Paint Crew. At 6:00 I had finished spraying the entire fence on both sides. I made a quick trip to the store to buy more paint, and by 8:00 I had finished a quick second coat on everything I had painted, PLUS I had also painted all of my white wicker lawn furniture. And it all looks GREAT. One of my neighbors actually came over and said it looked like I had replaced the fence with one of the new solid color vinyl ones. (Actually, I think it looks better than vinyl.) This machine is amazing. Here's why:
1. You pour the paint directly into a hopper-- It holds a gallon+ at a time--and you don't have to dilute It. My fence project used a... Read more

Updated my opinion., August 11, 2008 By Smiley "Library Lori" (Fargo, ND) - See all my reviews This review is from: Wagner 515010 Paint Crew Plus Paint Sprayer (Tools & Home Improvement) I bought this to paint the inside of a shop I built. I read through the manual and tried to use it. I was using a primer that I had thinned with water but it still clogged. After thinning and trying a couple more times and going through the process of cleaning the filter I finally called the store where I bought it. They said "oh ya!, you have a fine mesh filter you need a more coarse one." I said what else. They said I should get a strainer for lumps that may be in the primer (there were no lumps in the strainer). So I made the 10 mile trip back to get the new filter that I thought should have been in the box where the manual was, the manual that made no mention of any of these problems. I installed the new filter and after a couple false starts (I had to remove and clean or reseat the nozzle) I finally got it to work (for 2 walls). I was just getting the hang of it when the pump/motor died. I had even been willing to deal with the splatter drops ( I figured it was from the primer... Read more
